Dean Park will celebrate its 100th Anniversary in 2020 with a Historic House Tour on March 28, 2020 to celebrate that day — May 1, 1920 — when John Morgan Dean recorded the plat for “Dean’s Subdivision” with the Lee County Clerk.  Our 100th Anniversary Historic House Tour will include tours of ten historic homes, with refreshments served at several locations throughout Dean Park, as well as live music, food trucks and a seating/rest area near 2760 Rhode Island Avenue.

The homes featured on the 100th Anniversary House Tour will include:

  • “The grand craftsman home of Dr. Gordon Henry and Esther C. Henry (1919) at 2706 First Street — back by popular demand!
  • The two-story craftsman bungalow of Alvin Gorton and Sylvia Scholton Gorton (1921) at 2616 Michigan Avenue
  • The one-story bungalow of Claude Lee Stroup & Ethel Scholton Stroup (1921) at 2622 Michigan Avenue
  • Rental cottage of Louise H. Furen (1945) at 2748 Michigan Avenue
  • Colonial revival cottage of Lucius C. Curtright & Jessie Bowen Curtright (1923) at 2643 Providence Street
  • Early bungalow of Kent R. Smith & Leila E. Smith (1917) at 2728 Providence Street
  • Craftsman home of Judge George W. Whitehurst & Myra F. Whitehurst (1921) at 2740 Providence Street – back by popular demand!
  • Brick bungalow of Kate H. Coffey & James W. Coffey (1925) at 2747 Providence Street
  • Mid-century modern home of Samuel A. Graham & Susan H. Graham (1955) at 2706 Rhode Island Avenue
  • Craftsman home of Charles P. Staley & Alice Staley (1921) at 2760 Rhode Island Avenue

Tickets are $20 in advance. Tickets will also be sold at the “Triangle,” the small park at the intersection of Providence and Rhode Island, for $25 on the day of the tour.

Check in at the “Triangle” on the day of the tour to receive your tour booklet, which also serves as your ticket to the homes.
